‘피아노에서 뻗어 나오는 음파가 빛과 만난다면 어떤 모습일까?’라는 주제에서 프로젝트를 시작하였습니다. 다양한 곡률의 곡선으로 아크릴을 잘라 음에 따라 달라지는 음파를 표현하였고, 피아노의 건반이 눌렸다 다시 올라오는 궤적을 흰 밑판으로 나타냈습니다. 음파를 나타내는 아크릴판 아래 각각 4개의 구멍을 뚫어, 사용자가 원하는 곳에 LED를 꽂아 다양한 빛의 중첩을 느낄 수 있게 했습니다. 또, 조명의 색을 테이프를 이용하여 쉽게 바꿀 수 있게 만들었습니다.
This project was started from the question ‘What would it look like if the soundwaves coming from the piano met light?’. Acrylic plates were cut into various shapes of waves to express the soundwaves that change depending on the notes of the sound. The traces of the piano keys being pressed and brought back were shown by the white plate below. Four holes were drilled under each acrylic plate, allowing users to change the location of the LEDs. Therefore, users can experience various overlaps of light. Also, by using colored masking tape users can change the color of the light.
